Mind the First Rinse

Phoenix single fir duck shit and Shunzi Tangerine Peel White Tea benefit from a quick rinse. Add hot water to the teapot. Wait 5-10 seconds. Pour the water out. This wakes the leaves. It removes dust. It prepares the tea for better flavor. Discard the rinse water. Begin the first brew.

Heat Water

Mineral element can effect the taste of tea. Mountain spring water, mineral water, pure water are recommended, the temperature differs. For the Shunzi Tangerine Peel White Tea, 80-85℃ is proper, for Phoenix single fir duck shit, it needs to be 100℃.  The more exact temperature you have, the better taste the tea will have. But noted that don’t heat water twice, the element’s change could mess up the origin taste of tea.

Warm The Teapot

Teas dislike sudden temperature changes. A warm teapot enhances tea qualities. Fill the teapot 2/3 with hot water. Swirl it gently. This warms the pot evenly. Pour out the water.

Place The Tea

Place tea in the teapot. The amount depends on tea type and preference. Tangerine Peel White Tea needs 1-2 teaspoons per 8 ounces of water. Phoenix single fir duck shit tea requires 2-3 teaspoons. For a 16-20 ounce teapot, use 2-4 teaspoons of leaves. Avoid overpacking. Leaves need space to unfurl. This releases full flavor.

Brew the Tea

Pour hot water at the correct temperature into the teapot. Ensure all leaves are wet. Cover the teapot. The lid traps heat and aroma. Steeping time varies. Shunzi Tangerine Peel White Tea steeps for 1-3 minutes. Phoenix single fir duck shit takes 3-5 minutes. Over-steeping causes bitterness. Swirl the teapot gently once or twice. This ensures even brewing.

Serve the Tea

Pour the tea into cups after steeping. Use a strainer if the teapot lacks a filter. Pour small, even amounts. This keeps flavor consistent across cups. For more brews, repeat the process. Increase steeping time slightly for each brew. This draws out the tea’s evolving flavors.

Clean and Care for the Teapot

Rinse the teapot with warm water after use. This removes tea residue. Avoid soap or detergents. Ceramic absorbs odors. These affect future brews. Dry the teapot with a soft cloth. Store it in a well-ventilated area. This prevents mold. Over time, a natural patina forms. It enhances tea flavor.
